Culture and art

Set on the French Riviera, Nice is a city renowned for its artistic, cultural and creative appeal. It regularly hosts international events devoted to art, design and communication. Nice offers a particularly inspiring environment for students in the creative fields: internationally renowned museums and art galleries, artistic and cultural events all year round, and a natural setting between sea and mountains that stimulates creativity. With its 10 museums, the City of Nice holds a remarkable heritage rooted in its history, the origins of its local traditions and the arts. A considerable legacy that is sure to inspire our future designers!

How do I apply for housing benefit?

Most students who rent can claim the housing benefit paid by the Caisse d'Allocations Familiales, which is designed to cover part of their rent. These are not "student benefits", however: anyone on a low income can claim them. To receive them, you must:

1. Hold a tenancy agreement in your own name (the lease must therefore not be in your parents' names)

2. Actually live in the property as your main residence (rent receipts must be issued in your name).

3. Your income must not exceed certain thresholds. The CAF pays two types of housing benefit, ALS and APL, which unfortunately cannot be combined. Please note: the property you live in must not belong to your parents! Find out more at www.caf.fr
